It has been a busy month filled with presentations and workshops.
It has been a busy month filled with presentations and workshops.
They all focused on the question : How to increase your reach and impact on sustainability?
By stepping outside your own bubble!
I experienced this firsthand last week by doing exactly that—leading a workshop for over 200 dedicated climate activists during a conference in Amsterdam. I’m familiar with organizations like Milieudefensie and XR (Extinction Rebellion), and I support them financially. But I rarely see individuals from those circles in my personal network or “bubble.”
It was a unique experience!
Despite their different visions and approaches, these organizations deeply understand the need to support one another. They show loyalty to maximize their influence, like banding together when activists face imprisonment and placing a united advertisement saying, “This cannot stand.”
What struck me most was the shared realization that reaching beyond their own bubbles is essential for driving real change.
How can we do this?
1) By engaging with those outside your circle:
2) Share the motivations behind your actions.
3) Explain why certain methods are chosen.
4) Open up about what drives you as an activist.
“Climate”Conversations with your neighbor, a fellow parent at school, or a colleague can build understanding and connection. This approach creates bridges, fosters empathy, and expands your influence far beyond your immediate network.
Why does this work?
Because 75% of people already agree —we need to change our behavior to save the planet. What’s missing is connection and dialogue to make eachother acting.
Would you like to experience how simple it can be to amplify your impact or your organization’s reach?
